installing vmware - make not found

It seems I messed up the vmware install.

I followed the procedure, installed the kernel-headers, the gcc compiler... everything the vm-config.pl script asked for.

But now I came across this error message :
/usr/bin/makeg: line 13: exec: make: not found
Unable to build the vmmon module.

From what I understand, I typed the wrong location for the make command. how can I fix the issue and complete the installation ?

Try installing the package called build-essential, which installs everything that you need to compile from source. It might install some stuff that you might have left out.

Btw, VMWare Player is available for in the repositories so you don't have to compile it. In case you're interested in using the more powerful (IMHO) VMWare Server (also free) you can check out this guide on how to install it:

      it worked, thank you

I did install the server version of VMware. I'm trying to run photoshop cs 2, so i can avoid a dual boot system.
