backup to external western digital 3.0 harddrive

    Hi,
I have a western digital essential 3.0 hard drive hooked up into my network.
How do i set up to automatically backup to my external hard drive?
    I use Ubuntu.

    I use Ubuntu.
LOL! This is Kubuntuforums... Not a lot of difference, but a subtle difference.

I recommend you take some time to carefully consider several possible solutions before deciding which one works for you. The most important things you need to understand about any backup system are:
      • how it works and exactly what it is supposed to do
      • how to test it to make sure it is doing what you think
      • how to restore from backup when you need to
