authentication failure

i just installed kubuntu 6.06 and have been trying to get multimedia going. when i bring up konsole and try to get into superuser mode i get an authentication failure message. what is wrong?

You've just bumped up against the most noticeable difference between (K)ubuntu and other distros There isn't anything wrong. Ubuntu and derivatives use sudo and not su.
