Error when Updating "Package download failed"

I have 24 updates that I am unable to get for latest version of 64bit Kubuntu
    The error is
    "Package download failed"
    E: Error http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main fuse-utils amd64 2.8.4-1ubuntu1.2
    404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.30 80]

My apologies to my noobieness in figuring this out. I tried searching a few things from the error code
but didn't come up with a solution.

I run Linux mint KDE and SUSE KDE ( latest 64 bit versions) and am able to update both no problem.
Tried restarting and even swapped out network cable for known good one and still get the error.

    This one has me stumped.
    Advice greatly appreciated.

This problem is normally fixed by the passage of time. Try again in 3 hours.

Re: Error when Updating "Package download failed"

Earlier I was able to install most of the packages by selecting 3-4 at a time and then they updated fine did a restart to check.

The ones I consistently have not been able to update are
        Fuse-utils
        libfuse2
        libpango1.0-0
        libpanto1.0-common

        any ideas?

the mirror you are using could be having problems. You can try using the Main server instead of the US one.

Thank you for the help. Much appreciated.
I installed the repos for medibuntu and then everything started working again.
            All good now.

Very weird. But would rather have things like this than have to defrag my drive
all the time, check for malware / viruses and have to reregister XP every couple of months again
            from testing/changing hardware.

Thank you to all who responded and thank you for Kubuntu.
