Compiz Startup: Better to use a autostart.sh, or use the 'Default Applications'

I've installed compiz and emerald per the instructions at http://www.compiz.org (actually https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Co...r/CompizFusion). The only way I can get it to run is to put the startup script in /home/user/.kde/Autostart/. When I use the 'Default Applications' method, emerald never launches correctly.

This is on Maverick 10.10. Nvidia drivers are working fine. Using the autostart is fine. Just wondering which is the preferred method? Or should I just shutup and use the one that works?!?

in this case, yes , and though the Default Applications is supposed to work, the autostart method is also a preferred method. (you can also do this graphically via the autostart options in System settings, by adding the command line string when selecting the program in the dialog
