Sorry but do I boot in recovery then run save x or safe graphics... Or add that to the grub.. Or...what

Ok figured it out, ran failsafe graphics, text scrolled by, and returned to menu where I selected failsafe graphics... If I boot I'm back at text login with a long list of text such as

Ignoring unknown parameter "sys log"
Unknown parameter encountered; "username map"
Continuing with "passed backend" "unix password sync" "passwd program""Pam password change" "map to guest" "usershare allow guest" "guest ok" ..... All with the same unknown parameter encountered error
