I have found a solution to connecting Kubuntu with a WUSB54Gv2 wireless linksys adapter. DriverLoader. I had to move my machine to a completely different part of the house where the router is, and connect via Ethernet cord. Once then, I was able to install DriverLoader, which connects you to the internet to install (go figure, ironic eh?). Then once that was done, I installed my drivers, (do not have adapter plugged in while installing the WUSBXP.sys file, system will crash), and it was good to go.
