    More Wireless Troubles--argh.

I am actually having the exact same issue as the person in this thread http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3114866

Which is marked [SOLVED] but no actual solutions were presented. Please help? I installed Kubutu yesterday at a friends' house, and it had no trouble connecting to his wireless network with a passphrase. I'm using a Belkin router here at my house with a WEP encryption and the pass (super easy for my grandmother to remember 123234567891) but when I enter that it just keeps saying "setting network address" then pops up a window asking for a password again, shows:

    Security: WEP
Key type: Hex or Ascii Key (it also gives the option for passphrase, and I've tried both)
    Key: (auto populates) 4a732909...etc
    WEP input: 1 (default)
    Authentication: Open System

What am I doing wrong here??

I am not sure why you are unable to connect with the correct passphrase, but you might be able to solve the problem by disabling WEP. WEP is entirely broken from a security standpoint and has been superseded by WPA. If you're not able to use WPA for whatever reason, just run open wifi.
