Hibernate cause crash with IBM (Lenovo) T61

I installed Kubuntu 10.10 last night. First time I have ever tried it out and I am very impressed. I spent last week playing around with ubuntu but I think I may prefer Kubuntu.

The only problem I am having is that the when I use the hibernate (suspend to disk) function, the computer simply hangs. A hard reset (press and hold power button) then causes another hang and then a second hard reset allows a successful re-start.

This is not a disaster but it would be nice if I could get it to work.

Anyone else seen an issue like this?

    Cheers,

    iep

Did you have a swap partition at least equal to your PCs installed RAM (1.5 times would be better/recommended)?

Hi, thanks for the tip. I have 2Gb of ram and specified 2Gb of swap though I can now see that a bit of extra headroom might have been a good idea.

Proper noob question here, but can I alter the size of the swap space post install? If so, how do I go about doing this?

      Thanks,

Did you put your swap partition at the end - is it the last partition?
