I want to switch from another Linux distro to Kubuntu: how to handle my Thunderbird email and folders?
(The Kubuntu Transitioners forum is for users coming from Window$ or Mac, so I thought I'd ask here).
Most everything else I'd guess would be straight forward, as I am installing Kubuntu on a second box: install all the sw I want, copy personal files. But I am a little nervous about how to transition email and folder structure.
On current PC, I use Thunderbird to retrieve mail for three accounts, so each account has its own files; In each account I have set up numerous folders, and also I have some rules to move certain incoming mail to specific folders based on originating addresses. I don't mind needing to recreate the rules if necessary, I just don't want to loose all my emails. ;-)
Current Thunderbird version on box #1 is 2.0.0.8.
I assume I can use Thunderbird on Kubuntu but I really don't mind which email client I use as long as it works in KDE/Kubuntu.
Thanks for any advice.
