Re: Not able to right click on touchpad

A touchpad is 'area' specific. To get the right-click behavior, you tap in the lower-right corner of the touchpad. If you want to see what the default touchpad settings are, or want to change them:

K Menu button > System Settings > Hardware > Input Devices > Touchpad > Tapping

It has right-bottom corner means right button....but it still acts like its left clicking(regular clicking) on things...

Are you left-handed? In K Menu button > System Settings > Hardware > Input Devices > Mouse > General > Button Order is Left handed checked?

Re: Not able to right click on touchpad

nope...not left handed... i haven't changed anything dealing with touch-pad... like you know at the bottom it suppose to be left click(regular click) then right click(the menu thing pops up)....but for me its left click(regular click) right click(regular click) also.....

if it helps any the touch-pad name is SynPS/2

also someone just told me "its your mouse driver, or how x configured your mouse, is fail." that may help you to help me :P The guy just told me about that... but i dnt think he wants to help me much on it or he dunno how to...haha

Is the touchpad part of the laptop, or a USB plug-in device?

In K Menu button > System Settings > Hardware > Input Devices > Touchpad > Tapping have you tried changing the assignmet of the actions?

On the left, click to highlight Right-Bottom Corner and on the right, if it doesn't show that Right Button is highlighted, then click on Right Button and click on Apply. I'm sorry if this is to basic, but I don't know if you have already tried this.

Problems are with touchpad and wireless - latter needs restricted Broadcom driver to be installed to work and touchpad-problem needs this solution http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1388164&page=6 Note too that models hardware components may vary in different areas of the world and according to time model is made.

The ubuntuforums link isn't applicable to your issue - directly - so for the moment, ignore it.

Given that you have looked at the Tapping settings 'as they are configured', do any of the default settings actually work 'as advertised'?

                    Open a console and type:
                    Code:
                    cat /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
Copy/paste the output into your reply.

There's no 'Don't think they do' - note what they are supposed to do, and then try each one and note what happens. It's a 'try and see' exercise.

                          right-top corner: nothing
right-bottom corner: does the menu when only tapping. nothing when pressed
left top and bottom corners set to none...

not use to just the tapping thing....... use to pressing the right-bottom corner...

Don't. Linux is not Windows (or Mac). It may look similar, and in some areas, works almost the same. But, it is different. Think about it as a new language that you have decided to learn. It really isn't any more different than that.

"not use to just the tapping thing....... use to pressing the right-bottom corner..." Okay, get used to 'tapping' as that is what is required for non-movement actions.

By default, these are the actions when tapping the touchpad:

                              Right-Top Corner > Middle Button
                              Right-Bottom Corner > Right Button
                              Left-Top Corner > Nothing
                              Left-Bottom Corner > Nothing
                              One Finger > Left Button
                              Two Fingers > Middle Button
                              Three Fingers > Right Button

So, a quick tap of one finger in the right-bottom corner of the touchpad should open the menu you are expecting/looking for. And while it is simply obvious, you have to have Enable Tapping checked.
