K > System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Autostart and select the item and click on Remove. (This, on Maverick running KDE 4.5.3).

My Autostart shows only "Desktop File Script File" with a sub-entry of "gtk2-engines-qtcurve.rc.sh"

"Service Manager" has a list of 20 or so items, but no Kleopatra among them.

        Re: Startup menu

it could be somehow 'stuck' in the session, if you use the default settings, which is to start KDE with the previous session's apps. etc

K > System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Session Management

You can try temporarily turn this off, and log out/login and see if that fixes it.

Ah, good idea, Claydoh! I just right-clicked on the application bar's Kleopatra icon and chose "Shutdown Kleopatra." We'll see what happens the next time I boot up.
