(SOLVED) Dressmaking &/ Pattern making software

I'm looking for some free (what else, spoilt rotten using Kubuntu ) for pattern making / dress making.
I've been Google-ing the past few weeks and most of the programs/software that I get is for windoze.
I'm not even considering them not even under wine.

I don't know of any, but I was thinking about blender. It has the ability to make a flat template along cut seems for a 3d shape. Would have good tools for textures and rendering. Not a simple program to run and is not tailored for what you want, but won't cost anything to try. If you try it, I would download the 2.5 version linux binary from blender.org vs the 2.49 repository version. 2.5 has had a major UI overhaul and will be what you would want to learn. Good luck.

thanks for the quick reply. Blender will be perfect. I forgot about it because I mostly associate the program with movie-making etc.
But wit ha few tweaks here and there; a bit of planning and a whole lot of patience it might just work
