Hello,
I have experience with windows (upto XP)and FreeBSD. I am trying Kubuntu for fun and to expand my horizons.
I think I made a mistake.
In the world that I am used to you need to give root a password. I did that. Now when I work through the GUI and am asked to go to the administrator mode it will not work. I get "Conversation with su failed." I have put in my password and all so root's password to no avail.
If I go through a terminal window I can "su" to root and change the password but can not in the GUI interface.
Thank you for your time.
John
