I'm really new 8-)

Hey, I'm brand spanking new to linux, My friend gave me a kubuntu distribution that he had (he put it on a disc for me) So i don't know what version it is, anyway i've installed it on my other computer, but i can't get in. When i boot, this is what i get;

I'm sorry the part of your mesasge where you were going to show us what you got when you boot didn't come through. Unless, of course, what you get is a completely blank screen.
