    Is KDE 4.5.1 stable?

I've noticed that KDE 4.5.1 is what is being packaged with Meerkat. 4.5.2 is a step in the right direction and I loved its promise, but it's very unstable on my system. I'm taking a hard look at Meerkat, and was looking for opinions.

I can't speak for KDE 4.5.1 on Meerkat, but here on Lucid (32-bit), KDE 4.5.1 is ROCK SOLID STEADY. Absolutely no problems at all.

Kde 4.5.1 on Maverick is certainly rock solid for me, no complaints there.

btw, where did you get 4.5.2 from? It's not due out before tomorrow, and the Maverick repos still have 4.5.1 (just checked).

my bad... My Dell M6400 was having a time trying to run Lucid with kde 4.5.1 on it. I'm going to try Meerkat using the daily build and see if the results are different.

I installed Maverick on my 9 year old grandson's laptop yesterday and have been running it every since. it has KDE 4.5.1 on it. So does MY laptop, which is running Lucid and which I upgraded using the backports.

KDE 4.5.1 is ROCK SOLD on both machines.

My desktop here has had Maverick Meerkat for about 3 days now. No issues. Very stable.

Wait till 10.10.10 and you'll get the official Mave release.

The RC is better than the previous alpha and beta versions, no login loop, no X crash after changing a window settings but in my case I noticed that changing my monitor refresh rate does make X crash. Keep in mind I don't use any ATI or Nvidia card...
