    [SOLVED] Netbook powersave problems

I know this may seem like a REALLY stupid question, but everything I've tried has failed to work. My screen keeps turning off after ten minutes of inactivity (which doesn't help when I'm watching movies) and it's getting really annoying. It doesn't lock, or go on stand-by; the screen just turns off and I don't know how to stop it.

I've tried changing some options around in each of my powersaving options, but nothing has worked. Am I just missing something that is woefully obvious?

I'm running on Kubuntu version 9.6 on an Acer Aspire One; and I don't really know what version of KDE or Grub I'm running; my stepdad was the one who installed this.

Got it working now, thanks for pointing me in the right direction Wfischer, and thanks for answering in that post (and apparently this one Oshunluvr) and thanks for answering Skunk, didn't get around to trying your answer but it sounds like it would have worked.
