CLOSED: WICD useless in Lynx (searched & viewed 3 other threads)

    Hi there

Been having major problems with WICD since moving to Lynx, (failing to get IP address and bad password errors). This is both on my Ubuntu laptop and Kubuntu desktop

Less of an issue on the laptop as unlike KDE Network Manager, Gnome wireless networking generally works fine

I am fairly certain I have done everything on the other threads on this topic including removing all elements of Network Manager and rolling back to an older version of WICD

I was on version 1.7.0 and am now on 1.6.2

    I am using a D-Link wireless router model DSL-2640R

So not sure what to do now and grateful for your advice

Please let me know if you need any further information

    Thanks in advance

    Raaj

Wicd 1.7.0 here, on KK 10.04 32-bit, running KDE 4.5.1. No problems. None. Works flawlessly, for my wired and wireless connections.

Likely not. GreyGeek will most certainly chime in here, and point you (again?) to the post(s) of his where he has specific information on how to get Wicd working.

      Glad it's working for you
But I am having problems like many others before me
Grateful for any tips to help me get this sorted

Incidentally I did a search for files with"networkmanager" in their name including hidden files across the whole system and found nothing

So for now I still think I don't have any of those files left

      Thanks

          Thanks
Yes that post looks familiar as I remember going through the list and removing them one by one via terminal
