[SOLVED] problem saving edits in kate

    hello everyone
im running Kubuntu 10.04 at the moment with kde 4 i had someone suspended my computer to disk earlier even after they were informed not too. this has lead to my network manager being disabled i traced the problem to the networkmanager.state where networkingenabled=false i have tried to change it to =true in kate then save but it wont save it says to check if i have write access or enough disk space. i have the diskspace and i have tried su - root in konsol. i have search the net for the answer but no luck.
    thanks
