    wireless router found, but still no connection

    I was able to find my wireless router, and everything looks fine but I still have no internet connection.

    What aditional information could I give you guys to make this easier?

    what ver of Kubuntu?

    what ver of KDE?

    what is the wirless card as reported by

    are you using encription WEP WPA ?

    are you using the stock network manager ?

      If you can see the router from your system, then one would suspect some issue with configuring your key and/or password. If you want to post the output of
      Code:
      sudo iwconfig
      that will confirm that wireless networking is set up on your system.

      People have trouble with Knetwork-manager, and many prefer wicd for wireless connection management. There are prior threads on how to remove knetwork-manager, if you think that is the problem.

          it looks like your wirless card is being seen anyway....

          so if you click the networkmanager icon in the system tray do you see your network name listed....if yes what happens when you click it. ?

          you didn't say if you use WEP,WPA encryption ....if you DO some people ave trouble with encryption and the stock network manager....most seam to prefer wicd as @dibl has sead.

          also do

          and see if eth1 is UP.

            Yes, stock network manager

            If I click on my network name it becomes highlighted but nothing else.

              that is lspci not 1spci ....small L

              you can try clicking manage conections and try to set up the acount with WPA/WPA2

              or folow @dibl's advice
