Mobile broadband connection on Kubuntu (9.10)

Im using ubuntu and I wanted to Use Kubuntu so I've install it (Kubuntu 9.10). but when I've connect my E220 USB modem to my PC It is reorganized as a modem. and I've created a Connection using my connection details. But i Cant connect to the internet. when I've Clicked on the mobile icon it shows my connection but when i selected it nothing happens. what is when wrong? I heard It'll work when install network-manger-gnome on kubuntu. how do i do it without using internet? is there a way?

    Thanks!

You can use KPPP (KMenu-Applications-Internet-Internet Dialup Tool)
    ASROCK Z87 Pro4 - i5 4670K - R9 270x ☞ Triple Boot: KDE NEON ★ Windows 10 ★ Windows 7

In the knetworkmanager setup for the account try going to the mobile broadband>>PPP tab and un-check MSCHAPv2 and MSCHAP in the Authentication section. Then click ok and on the first section apply.

I don't have that particular modem this is what worked.
