[SOLVED] Epson Artisan 810 Printer Setup

Hello, I installed Kubuntu 10.04 on my system (an unmodified Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop) sometime last week. Obviously I am still very new to Linux, hence my choice in posting here, but I am enjoying it and would prefer not to have to use Windows for anything.

I have an Epson Artisan 810 printer, and have been attempting to set it up to work wirelessly with my computer while in Kubuntu. At the moment, I can only print from Windows. I have tried finding appropriate drivers for use in Linux, and have read a few posts about similar Epson all-in-ones, but I have yet to find a working solution for me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the printer wireless? If so does it support UPnP via the wireless router? Do you know the IP address of the printer? Is your laptop connected wirelessly or wired?

Both the printer and the laptop are wireless, and I do have the printer's IP address. The printer has successfully been used wirelessly from my laptop in Windows, I just don't know how to set it up in Linux.

Let's try this route. I use it more than the KDE interface as it is more logical to me and easier (again from my perspective).

You should get the CUPS Printer Administrative WEB interface. Once there click on the Administration TAB. Just under the Printers heading you should see three buttons "Add Printer" "Find New Printers" "Manage Printers".

Try the Find New Printers first to see if it detects it. Let me know.
