[RESOLVED] Can't install or update any packages!

Hi! I've done something that messed up the installation and update process ...
I've seen similar topics about updating problems, but I'm not sure if this is the same case. When i try to install or update any package with kpackagekit I receive an error report:

It's not a solution, but I did find this bug report.

The solution given in this thread looks promising from here, but YMMV. If you want to try this then start Kate as root and remove the empty line from
/var/lib/dpkg/statoverride. Do not use sudo to start Kate as root, but use kdesudo instead.

I guess the problem has to do with Gnokii, that i tried, but had to uninstall because it just freezed...
By the way, excuse my poor english. I don't know what YMMV means, but by the results, it can only be a good thing

As Snowhog said "Your Milage May Vary" means that the solution has been found to work sometimes for some people, but I could not guarantee it.

@tortomilo, we are guilty of using American jargon -- there is no reason to expect a non-American to understand it.

When new automobiles are advertised for sale in the USA, it is our law that the manufacturer must include a gasoline mileage efficiency statement. It is printed on a paper that is on the inside of the window of a new auto. There is one statement for mileage on high-speed roads ("highways") and another statement for city driving. At the end of the statement it says "Your mileage may vary." This has been something of a joke over the years, since some owners noticed that the gasoline mileage of their car was very different from the manufacturer's statement. So this "your mileage may vary" is now popular jargon, as "YMMV", meaning "I say xyz method is working for me, but YMMV" -- your experience may not be the same.

tortomilo did the right thing. He included vital log information in his post which helped me look for a solution. Any newbie considering a help request should do what tortomilo did, or more. The more information you give us, the more likely we can help.

I can't take any credit for this because all I really did is search the web.
