When you see the first menu, there are some "F" key options at the bottom. You want the one called "Safe Graphics" -- I think maybe it is F6.

Kubuntu Live CD Does Not Load GUI
First, see if it is ALREADY running and you've been bumped into a console:
ps aux | grep kde
If that shows some listing then use ALT+F7 to get back to the KDE GUI.
If that does not show anything then issue
startkde &
If that fails to start KDE then you have a video driver problem. In that case issue
lspci
and report back what your video driver is."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

Kubuntu Live CD Does Not Load GUI
Hi GreyGeek and dibl - Thanks for the rapid response. My computer is a Dell Pentium-IV with Intel on-board graphics. I had read on the forum about driver problems with this, but was able to get WUBI to work. When you both mentioned video issues, I added a nVidia card and Kubuntu Live CD booted right up.
Thanks for the help. . .
