I try to test java at http://www.java.com/en/download/inst...tect=jre&try=1 and get error.
Is java is available in kubuntu demo mode at all?

installation mode: demo mode, booting from CD
other Operating Systems: winxp


about PC:

* Type: Desktop
* CPU: Intel, 32-bit, 2.4MHz
* GPU: some based on NVIDIA
* RAM: 1.3GB
* HDs: internal - maxtor, seagate

You likely just want to install JRE, which you can do from the KPackageKit. Look for sun-java6-jre.

is it possible to install anything in live-cd mode?
I would prefer to use kubuntu in live-cd without installing but I really need to have java working....

Possible? Yes - If you have sufficient RAM. While running from the LiveCD, just try to install sun-java6-jre.
