    Regarding PoPPE

I am a damn newbie in Kubuntu. I quite like it, but i just cannot setup mine PoPPE Connection in Kubuntu . I have tried the Connection Manager in Kubuntu (Can't really recall what the name is), but it proved furtile, as i do not need to dial up to any connection. Please help me!!

    Re: Regarding PoPPE

Hello Darylngch and welcome to Kubuntu Forums.

Not everybody needs PPPoe. I spent a long time trying to configure it - only to find that I didn't need it at all. My service is "always on".

Please have a look at http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Dapper#H...nd_connections
it suggests that you need to open a terminal and type:

    sudo pppoeconf

      Have you tried running pppoeconf?
Open up Konsole and type in the command line
      Code:
      sudo pppoeconf
It will detect your ethernet/network cards and connection, and will ask you about some details (if you don't know the answers, just accept the default). Then it will ask for the username and password that you use in order to connect to your ISP. It will also ask you if you want to automatically connect to the internet upon boot.

      Hope that helps.
