    duel monitors

Im using a Wubi installation through windows, my graphics card is a geforce GTX260
I dont know the rest of the info because im totally new to linux and have no idea how to find system info (im used to dxdiag :P)

Iv been running linux for about an hour now (complete beginner) and I cant for the life of me get duel monitor working.

when i try to save to x configuration file i get this

Unable to open X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' for writing

I have tried everything in the following forums:
    http://johnnydopefish.blogspot.com/2...-to-parse.html
    http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=114048
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1060440
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1482283

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1101445&page=2
    http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=114048
    etc

Some of them mention editing the config file manually but my file doesnt seem to have a "module" section :/

I have a feeling that It might be because I dont have the rights to edit the file but I dont know how to open the nvidia-settings with full permissions (the methods suggested in those threads wont work for me)

    any suggestions?

      Re: duel monitors

thanks - that was the problem and its now working fine.

on another note (dont want to make another thread), im trying to change the appearance of my desktop - iv gone through all the stuff in system settings but how do i download themes from kde-look? everytime i try to download something it either takes me to a screenshot of it or an error page.

Also, what are teh different parts id have to download? I gather there are:

      window decorators
      colour scemes
      icon
      mouse theme

do i need to download and intall these one by one or do "themes" include all of this?

Also when "themes" say beryl emerald or compiz - will they only work with certain window managers?

and one last question - is there some command that will show me all my system config info, ie what versian of kde i have, what window manager im using and all that?
