[SOLVED] Connect mobile phone SonyEricsson W595 on Toshiba Satellite

I have installed Kubuntu 10.04 on my Toshiba satellite L550.
I like to use my mobile phone SonyEricsson W595 both as mp3-player and as a mobile broadband modem (operator: tre.se).

    First problem: MP3
When I connect my phone via USB-cable to my computer, Kubuntu detects it as "camera" and the only choice offered by the appropriate widget is to open it with Digikam (which works fine for the photos on the camera, but is not at all what I would like to do).
I tried different modes on the phone, but the result is the same: The phone is detected as camera only.

Is there a possibility to make the phone memory visible in Doplhin? Then I could move my music between Amarok and phone that way. Or can Amarok be "forced" to detect the phone? How?

    Next problem: mobile internet
When connecting the phone, I believe it is detected by the network manager (I can add a connection that appears when clicking the "telephone"-icon).
But clicking on the connection makes just the computer work for a very short while (2-5 seconds or so, never clocked that), and then return into the "not connected" state.
I filled in "*99#" for number and "dummy" user name and password (they shouldn't be needed according to my phone operator tre.se). I tried APN data.tre.se and bredband.tre.se which both should be possible according to "tre.se".

Any suggestions to either of my phone-connection-problems?

    THANKS THANKS THANKS in avance!

For the mobile connection try unchecking the 2 MSCHAP options on the PPP tab in the knetworkmanager applet.

Re: Connect mobile phone as mp3 or modem

      Both problems solved now:

      MP3:
      1) The phone must be in "Mass storage" mode.
      2) In system settings-advanced user settings-removable devices "enable automatic mounting..." and "Automatically mount..." must be checked. (There is maybe another way of mounting the MP3 manually but I don'r know it).
Then the phone memory including music files can be accessed by dolphin.

SonyEricsson W595 as Modem with operator "tre.se":
Use the phone in "phone mode" and the following settings in the network manager.
      In the "PPP"-tab:
Uncheck both "MSCHAP" options in the ppp-tab of the network widget.
      In the "mobile broadband"-tab:
      1) Number: *99#
      2) Username: type anything you like
      3) Password: type anything you like
      4) Use APN "data.tre.se". Generally APN bredband.tre.se should also work, but for me it doesn't.
      5) Use type "prefer 3G".

For me it worked flawless then.
