I have installed Kubuntu 10.04 on my Toshiba satellite L550.
I like to use my mobile phone SonyEricsson W595 both as mp3-player and as a mobile broadband modem (operator: tre.se).
First problem: MP3
When I connect my phone via USB-cable to my computer, Kubuntu detects it as "camera" and the only choice offered by the appropriate widget is to open it with Digikam (which works fine for the photos on the camera, but is not at all what I would like to do).
I tried different modes on the phone, but the result is the same: The phone is detected as camera only.
Is there a possibility to make the phone memory visible in Doplhin? Then I could move my music between Amarok and phone that way. Or can Amarok be "forced" to detect the phone? How?
Next problem: mobile internet
When connecting the phone, I believe it is detected by the network manager (I can add a connection that appears when clicking the "telephone"-icon).
But clicking on the connection makes just the computer work for a very short while (2-5 seconds or so, never clocked that), and then return into the "not connected" state.
I filled in "*99#" for number and "dummy" user name and password (they shouldn't be needed according to my phone operator tre.se). I tried APN data.tre.se and bredband.tre.se which both should be possible according to "tre.se".
Any suggestions to either of my phone-connection-problems?
THANKS THANKS THANKS in avance!
