    Installing SAP on Kubuntu

    Hello,
I am new to SAP and I am new to Kubuntu, and SAP only offer support for Suse and Redhat-based systems to run their WAS, is there any chance someone could offer me some advice on installing SAP? Thanks a lot!

Nice to know RH and SuSe are keeping the proprietary market going. SAP software, I don't have anything good to say about it, so I won't.

    Here are your choices:

Dangerous: Use one of the Linux branches they have for RH or SuSe
Possibility: Install a Windows version via Wine, or if you are lucky locate a .tar.gz source file from SAP.

I used SAP works back in the mid to late 90's when working for one of their competitors at the time. I will never go back to SAP/ERP if I have to. Good luck with this one, as you may want to converse with SAP on this issue. Three is a possibility someone in the forums has experience with SAP and has it working on Ububtu.

Err...thanks a lot for the response. But I have contacted SAP before and they do not even bother to offer me an answer since they do not support Ubuntu anyways, and I have tried to look for someone with prior expereince of doing so through the SAP forum, did not help too much as well. I guess I just have to try my luck then. Thanks a lot anyways!
