mov files: only sound, no picture

Hello everybody,

looks like I have only sound, but no picture while playing *.mov videos.

Anybody else with this problem?

Could you tell a bit more (> Topic: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING HERE)

What release of Kubuntu you are using ?
What mediaplayer are you using ?

and as the ( > QuickTime wiki) .mov is a container format. What kind of .mov is it ?



Something to try / Rule of Thumb

When you get a mysterious error/no start/no audio/no video with the gui, use the cli.
With the cli you usually get a full error message and could do a net search with the error message.

If you start the VLC/MPlayer/Kaffeine/Whatever in the konsole there should be lot of information what is going on.

konsole:

vlc /path/to/movie.mov
mplayer /path/to/movie.mov
kaffeine /path/to/movie.mov
