This error is usually caused by having synaptic or kpackagekit open while you're running sudo apt-get from command line. Is this the case?

As for the error with the getdeb repo, I'm not familiar with how it's supposed to be entered so try commenting out those lines in your /etc/apt/sources.list to make sure that you can continue with updating. Then make sure that those repos are entered correctly.

There is a problem with the getdeb repository. I read a site that suggested an alternate mirror a couple of days ago. I'll see if I can find it and post a link. Mean while comment out your getdef enties in your sources.list file.

Then in a terminal run
