    Xorg.config or Xorg.config.fglrx-0?

    Hi
Im running Dapper with KDE 3.5.3 on an Athlon 64 bit box with ATI 9600XT graphics using fglrx driver. When I boot into K Desktop I am given the following error messages :-

    Composite Manager Failure-Kdialog

The composite manager failed twice within a minute and is therefore disabled for this session.

    Composite Extension not found failure-KDialog<2>

you must use Xorg>6.8 for translucence and shadows to work.
Additionally you need to add a new section to your X Config file
    Section "Extensions"
    Option "Composite" "Enable"
    End Section

When the desktop is loaded both translucence and shadows appear to work and I encounter no problems.
Iv checked the version of Xorg and that appears to be >7 so should not be a problem, so I am hopeing that if I edit the Xorg.config file that it will cure the problem but I do not know which to edit as apart from Xorg.config file there is another file, Xorg.config.fglrx.
    Thank for any assistance John

I believe that the only one that counts is xorg.conf, but I may be wrong. Look at both files and see what the difference is. If neccesary, add the additional stanza to both files, but back them up first.
