Everytime i restart my computer kubuntu freezes in the kubuntu loading screen. how do I fix this?

(1)What is the last thing written on the screen before it freezes?
(2) Can you start your system in recovery mode (the second line on the Grub Menu)? If so, enter your name and password when asked and then type "startx" at the full screen black and white console. Please write down any error messages you see and post them in this thread.
