kubuntu dapper - evolution files

anyone tell me where Evolution stores my messages?
I want to back them up in case I need to re-install
no idea where to look!

in the .evolution folder in your user folder. Reveal it by opening your home folder and check view>show hidden files. Your various programme settings and personal files will all be now shown. When I have copied .evolution to a hard disk, formatted with FAT or similar, it does not copy permissions, nor does it copy all files. So tar the whole folder, which keeps everything and copy it wherever you want. rsync is also good.
