How to keep last session's windows from reopening on login?

I don't have very many complaints about Kubuntu, but one of the few that I do have is that when I logout, all of my open windows are saved and reopened when I log back in. Especially doing this on my second box (which is almost 10 years old), it adds a lot to the login time (sometimes it takes a few minutes between the desktop appearing and the KDE startup sound playing when there were enough windows open). As a Windows 7 convert (which I still run on my laptop), I would have trouble changing my habits and closing every window before logging out. What I want to know is how to stop this.

Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
