* I'm running on Kubuntu 9.10
* It's installed on it's own, Windows no longer exists on the machine.
* I'm running on KDE 4 I beleave.
* I think I'm running on Grub 2? I'm too new to this.
* I have no other OS's installed.
* It's a Desktop
* it's running on a Pentium 4 by Intel. it's a 32-bit.
* I'm not sure what GPU it is, but it was manufactured by Gateway.
* It's got about 1 GB of RAM
* It's got 2 Hard Drives, the main one is a 140 GB Maxtor and the other a 40 GB.
* There's 1 CD Drive and 2 Floppy Drives (But I've never used the floppy drives, so I don't know if they even work. :P ) There's also 2 inconveniently placed USB 1.0's in the front and 4 in the back.
Okay, so just two days ago I downloaded and installed Kubuntu onto a rather old Desktop because of the numerous issues I've had with Windows on it. I've actually have known a bit about linux for some time now (Ubuntu was installed on an old laptop I bought at goodwill.) so I'm not *entirely* new to this. Anyways...
there's been some issues getting it to connect to the internet. I don't know if it's because of my incompetence, but it seems it's always fighting me. I plugged in my Linksys WUSB54GSC and it worked the first time. But once I reset the machine, it's always spent a minute trying to connect and than asking me for the WEP key again. I tried every configuration available and none of them are working.
So I went and bought TRENDnet's Wireless N PCI Adapter (TEW-643PI) And installed it today. But Kubuntu doesn't even recognize it's there! So ya, I'm kinda stuck in a rut here, and I have no clue why I'm having these issues. If anyone could help me out right now, that would be great.
