    can't get sound to work..

I have this Sound system which works via USB. It's an older phillips..

problem is, kubuntu sees the main sound (the one in the back with the regular sound jacks) as the 'main' sound source... 'master' I see the phillips on there as 'UAC3553B' but I can't make it the default sound...

    how do I accomplish this?

I have to say so far linux isn't going to well, no internet and no sound and I can't figure anything out =/

MP3 I assume? Not enabled by default as depending upon your jurisdiction it may be a capital offence to play a film or an MP3 on linux

install the package ubuntu-restricted-extras which should sort that out for you.

There is also a very good gude to multimedia in ubuntu here
