At completion of system update, version update is offered. If accepted what subsequent options are offered?

You do not say which version you are using.
It will be offering to upgrade to 9.10.
Advice is that you should upgrade from one version to the next. So if you are using 9.04 and it offers to go to 9.10 then OK. If you are using e.g. 8.04 and it is offering to go to 9.10 - DON'T!

Thanks for info - 8.04 here. Don't wish to be dumped into 9.1. Just to be clear, if I click on version upgrade there will be a subsequent step advising the version and a cancel option? In the case of a version change are there any files (apart from home) that would be useful to carry forward?Comment
