    problem with bin file installation

Hello all. I have downloaded Google Earth .bin installer and I tried to follow any tip I found on the net with its installation When I type

    chmod a+x pathandfilename.bin
    . /pathandfilename.bin

it says something like "verifying archive integrity" and the terminal immediately closes and nothing has happened. Any idea?

You are doing it the hard way. Follow this guidance to enable the Medibuntu repo (among other desirable things) and then just apt-get install googleearth:

      Did you literally type ?:
      chmod a+x pathandfilename.bin
You need to find the actual path and the actual file name and substitute those in the command.

Thanks for the medibuntu hint, it seemed to work! And I had typed the real filepath not the words I used!!! Anyway, at the end of the installation it showed the message under and when I click the program icon, it shoes the Google Earth logo but no program opens further. Any idea for once more?

I don't think those message are really errors. Google Earth is very resource-intensive on your graphics system, and will normally be somewhat slow in starting.

Open a Konsole window and enter "googleearth" and then let's see the error output.
