Acer Aspire 5000 Display

Has anyone installed Linux on an Acer Aspire 5000 ? I have tried Kubuntu 9.10, OpenSuse, Ubuntu, Mint but the display is terrible on all distros. colour is off and looks awful. I want to stick with Kubuntu and have never had a problem till now. Belarc lists the monitor as an LPL 15.4 with an SiS M760GX display adapter

Any ideas ?? or sites with advice ?

FIXED!
Add the sisfb to modprobe and save and reboot Good to go in ubuntu 9.10
