If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
It may be possible to set this in the Display - Modes option in your /etc/xorg.conf file.
You can also set it with the xrandr command, which you could set up as an autostart command, if the xorg options refuse to cooperate. You amy also be able to set this using the vga= or gfxpayload options in your grub menu. if you are using grub-1.97 or later.
Depending on your video driver, it may also be possible to set it somewhere in your driver's configuration. We would need more info on your hardware and video software to be more specific.
