Proxy Problems

Hi,
I am trying to set up Kubuntu in our school, in order to run Karoshi as a server. We use a proxy at our school. I enter the details into the manual proxy config., and the ports etc. The browser will load brilliantly the first time, but when I return to the browser a second time, it fails to connect, giving me an 'unkown proxy' error. Can anyone suggest why this would be?

Also - in oder to install Karoshi, I need to be in root. How do I log in as root?

You DON'T login as root. You obtain root privileges for a single command. Please read this wiki page about RootSudo
