how change back the locale language

i had english UK as default language..
just to try out the language support.. i installed new language Marathi.. and moved it to the top position in region and language option of System settings.
I wanted to switch back to English language.. so...
I moved english UK up the ladder in language settings for locale: language is not changed to UK english
I uninstalled Marathi language: still language is changed to UK english
I used the "Select System Language" option in language settings and selected UK english: still language is not changed to UK english..

How do i switch back to English UK language?

Re: how change back the locale language

"System Settings">"Regional & Language" should take care of locales for KDE. For more general settings (e.g. GTK progs, startup settings) you may need the Bash "locale" command. You can start by typing "man:locale" in the konqueror address bar, or "man locale" in konsole. The former is the better technique because there are 3 manpages (in sections 1, 5, and 7) on "locale". In konsole you'll only get the first.
