If you are using KPackageKit, don't. Open a console and type:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
This will update the package cache - necessary.
    Then type:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If any package are still 'blocked' it is for good reason.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

sorry I forgot to include this in my previous post http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-sc-4.4
I meant I follow the instruction and added ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports to repos
and then I follow your instruction after that will be ok right?
      thanks

Re: How to update the "blocked" package??

I upgraded successful as described previous
now it leads me to another problem. Once I upgraded to kde4.4 I don't see cable internet connected icon on bottom right (wired) to show I'm connecting to internet (but it works), and then I did install the wireless driver "the bcm43xx driver" to my Dell sucessfully.
After everything is being done, I don't see the wireless icon either. I tried going to K->Applications->System->Network management and saw in wireless tab with no wireless connection available either. Therefore, no go to find my wireless connection.
        is there something I'm missing?
        thanks in advance
