    grub2 edit software

    I am a new bee.....my grub has lots of unwanted options......I want to clean my grub start up editor

    is there any grub2 gui editor exists for kubuntu or windows7

    Type this into Konsole: kdesudo kate /boot/grub/grub.cfg After you enter the root password you just edit the entries near the bottom. Its a text editor though.

        It would be a better long term solution if you used your favorite package manager to uninstall the kernels that you no longer need. If you just edit the grub config files, the unwanted entries will reappear the next time you run update-grub.

          What skunk says says is right. Not only that, but grub.cfg is read-only, so you have to change that before editing. Best you can do would be using some of this:
