Hi - I Hope someone can help with this, I feel a bit newbie...
Just managed to install kubuntu 9.10 64bit version, as a dual boot with (at the moment) debian, which is a 32bit version and working fine.
During the install i needed to switch to safe graphics mode as the line "starting init crypto disks" kept appearing and then nothing happened (left it overnight even!).
Using the safe graphics mode i managed the install, but now, when i boot from the hard drive i just get the command line login (which does login to my username).
In addition to all that, from the first time i put the CD in the drive the initial recognition takes ages (3 to 4 minutes) before continuing. What have i done to deserve these problems?
Could the problems be cos of the dual boot 32/64bit issue (debian 32bit works fine with my graphics card)?
or maybe i am just cursed...
