    Howto add album art to mp3?

    Hey... just wondering what app people are using to add their album art directly to their mp3's... I like MediaMonkey for this task on Windows, but really don't want to have to resort to that...

    Or is there a script for amarok to do it?

    There are:

    kid3
    KDE MP3 ID3 tag editor
    mp3diags
    find issues in MP3 files and help to solve them
    ++ lot of others...

    About Amarok and the embedding the album art > Bug 176402 - Embedded id3v2 cover art not displayed

    The KDE file managers can show the embedded album art > AudioThumbs:
    Description:
    Plugin for KDE file managers (Dolphin and Konqueror) to preview cover arts embedded in Audio (MP3, FLAC) file tags as Thumbnails.

    ...and other media players can use the embedded data > Topic: Media Players

        All of above mentioned softwares will require manual work.
        i use songbird for that.. good music player.

        I (and i'm sure many of you) save album art in folder which has all the respective songs of that album.
        [Fearless.jpg in Fearless album]

        In Amarok when one clicks on Set Custom Album Art. Amarok opens directly the folder which that song is playing from... but still one has to click on that album art. and hit save.
        is there any intelligent album art setting software which will do this automatically

          I still don't have a great solution for embedding album art in the mp3 itself. I use easytag and download it from amazon. Sorta manual, but it works. When it comes to subsequently extracting that image from the mp3 and placing it in the "album" folder I use a couple of quick find commands that work well.

          Code:
          find . -name "01*mp3" -execdir eyeD3 -i . {} \;
          find . -name "OTHER.jpeg" -print -execdir mv {} cover.jpg \;
          I run these two commands from the root of my music folder. You need eyeD3 installed (it's in the repos). The 2nd command is there purely in case some of the album art isn't embedded as type "cover" art. It works well for me.

            Actually, kid3 is a little more feature complete than my initial google search had led me to believe... that might be the solution I've been looking for (other than of course amarok doing it "automatically").

                i recently copied my entire collection to my friends windoze OS.
                it turns out that.. win media player did not recognise the album art which i had applied album by album using both.. amarok and songbird
                just an FYI..
