I've been trying to get a dual head to work with Kubuntu 9.1. From what i understand, xorg.conf has been done away with, but when the auto configurations don't work i'm unsure of where to go to make changes to the default information it is receiving. The card I'm working with is a Maxtor g450. I've gone through a few of the issues that other people have had and they all seem to be fixed while the xorg.conf was still around or the problem is irrelevant. At this time i have mirror screens, system settings - > display only detects one monitor. I did one of the output commands i've found previously i only had one monitor stream being found. Any idea where i should start?
I have an external hd attached to my computer in the downstairs corner of my house, which is being shared over wireless through my windows box. Due to the signal strength i have upstairs at times there will be breaks when streaming video locally. Is there any way to customize the amounting of buffering vlc will require before playing over the local network? Or another player would work if there is a better one.
Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks
