    Konqueror won't display 'pages from the UK'

    What it says in the title really

    I type in the search terms and click the 'pages from the UK' button then enter and Konqueror displays the uk page for about 1/2 a second then goes to 'the web' it's very annoying as I'm in Uk and often have to spend ages searching through reams of info that isn't relevant to my search.

    How do I correct this? I've no idea where to start even!

    Can you explain more, exactly what is/isn't happening? How are you initiating the search in Konqueror? Where do you see the 'pages from the UK' button?

      Okay. I've got it. You go to http://www.google.co.uk/
      You type in your search term and click on Search: pages from the UK

      This works for me, and I'm here in the U.S. In the Konqueror search bar I typed: http://www.google.co.uk/ and entered several search terms. All resulted in links from the UK.

        LOL thanks for that - it's what I'm doing

        Google.co.uk is set as my home page

        I get a brief, tantalising glimpse of the UK pages and it's replaced with ' the web' page - very annoying!

          Would you clarify what you mean by 'the web page'?

              Interesting. Is this behavior new? Has it worked as you expected previously, and if yes, what changed, i.e., OS upgrade or...?

                It's not original behaviour, only thing that's changed is some bug fixes downloaded but that was a while ago.

                  You can try clearing your cache. Further, after clearing the cache, elect not to use the cache.

                  Settings > Configure Konqueror... > Cache and uncheck Use cache

                  See if that makes any difference in the behavior.

                      This is only slightly relevant, but when I do a similar search in Canada it does not give Canadian pages. The reason is that the store down the street whose web page I would like to see, is more than likely buying space on a server located in another country. I know that there are a lot of practical hosting options in Europe, and here most Canadian web pages are hosted in the US. I just changed a search sitting there to "pages from Canada" and 4 pages offered were with Arabic letters! I'm just mentioning all this because it may be that you won't actually get much benefit out of asking for local pages. In other words - don't feel bad.

                        I know that this doesnt resolve the prob, but i would use firefox instead of konkeror for web searching is much faster and works better.
