Add and Remove Programs is empty

When I open Software Mgt (Add and Remove Software) there is no software listed

I have tried clearing the filters but there was nothing to clear.

Shouldn't I see a list of apps installed??

Synaptic shows a list, but why doesn' this one? (adept?)

    thanks

kpackagekit has a lot to be desired. That is why many install Synaptic. That said, you can 'see' what kpackagekit has to offer if you select the category first. Click on the All Packages button in the upper right and select the category, and you will then be presented with the packages falling into that category.

            thanks for the tips

didn't occur to me to that I could use Synaptic.

I will go ahead and install. is there a way to make it the default add/remove entry in the system settings?

not shure if you can change that or not but once installed it will have a menu entry in K>aplacations>system.

and frome the desktop alt>F2 and start typing synaptic......by the time you get to the n it will show and can be opend
